Agriculture Development and Animal Husbandry

 

Agriculture and Animal husbandry development programmes are initiated by Shreyas since 1979, as most of the partner families fall under the category of small and marginal farmers.We focus on developing indigenous technologies for promoting sustainable agriculture.

Shreyas promoted organic farming practices among the partner families. At present this department is working in collaboration with the Natural Resource Management department of Shreyas.

We have setup a Bio-control and bio fertilizer production lab at Nambiarkunnu, where we can product Trichoderma, Psuedomonous and VAM. In future we can produce bio-fertilizers such as Azospirillum and Acetobacter.
We hope that we can provide integrated farming related training and transform it to a knowledge centre. Dairy Unit, Goat farm, Medicinal Plants, organic farm, vermi composting, azolla cultivation and other allied activities will boost up this process.
