Comprehensive Community Health Programme (CHAI)

This programme is intended to achieve comprehensive health for all human beings. As part of this programme, we have initiated the programme in 5 selected Tribal villages from November 2004 . The selected villages are Ambalakunnu, Chethalayam, Erulam, Kallumukku and Valluvady. Through this programme we are addressing the health problems of 526 families having 3020 members.

Objective

  • To ensure comprehensive community health and awareness among 526 families
  • To equip 5 CHVS & Community health volunteers and 5 village committees for community health activities
  • To promote healthy community through the awareness about TB cases and communicable diseases

Activities /Achievements

  1. Selected 5 villages and 5 CHVs
  2. Formed 45 SHGs
  3. 5 youth and 5 balavedi groups are formed
  4. Promoted 3 agriculture based group ventures
  5. Saving habit of the villagers increased
  6. Capacity of the women improved
  7. Medicine kits supplied
  8. Awareness classes on TB, cancer and communicable diseases conducte
  9. Medical camps and other follow up activities continuing
