Health Insurance Programme
The need for financial services like credit, savings and insurance exists for all segments of the population whether it is rich or poor. It is only the quantum of need that differs. In the modern living most people budget the income for their family needs. But when it comes to medical contingencies, it is not budgeted since illness and accidents are unpredictable and the expenses are incalculable.
But what if someone takes care of this hassle?
During the current year a health insurance programme has been launched by Shreyas in collaboration with United India Insurance Company Ltd. This programme has been initiated in order to support the partner families who spent lion’s share of their savings for health related issues. The health care package is a unique programme specially designed to period medic claim and accident coverage. The scheme has been further divided into two categories. One for the BPL family with the subsidy support from the Central Government and the other for the APL family. As an initial step, the programme has covered 10585 families. Till now we disbursed an amount of Rs. 14413100 as claim. Now they realize the importance of insurance for safety life.

Janashree Bima Yojana

Shreyas has launched “Janashree Bima Yojana” in collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation of India a scheme, which will benefit the poor including the school going children from 9th to 12th standard.

The Scheme is open to individuals from the age of 18 to 60 years, is mainly meant for BPL families but the same is flexible. The premium amount is Rs. 200/- out of this Rs.100/- is a subsidy from the Government of India. The insured will get Rs. 30,000/- for natural death and Rs. 75,000/- for accidental deaths besides claims based on the gravity of disability. Any claims through other policy of LIC or other Insurance Company is allowed in this scheme. The dependant children studying from 9th to 12th class will get a Scholarship of Rs. 300/- quarterly.
The claim procedures are simple as this is a social security scheme.
 
At present there are 8500 families enrolled in this scheme from our operational area. Till now we disbursed an amount of Rs. 2818200 as scholarship and Rs. 1605000 as death claim.
