| Children play a vital role in the building up of a nation. A considerable percentage of the world population constitutes children, who can contribute much in the development process of the future. This precious resource has to be properly utilized for development purpose. The children constitute 40% of the Indian Population. |  |

In the modern society children face a lot of problems such as physical harassments, mental torture, sexual exploitation and child labour. In order to help them to tackle these issues our intervention is essential. So every care should be given for the development of children. With this end in view Shreyas promotes children’s groups in its operational area called Balajyothi groups. At present we have 420 balajyothi groups in our operational area. Besides the formal education Shreyas gives importance to a value based education by giving due importance to moral and spiritual guidance, character formation, personality development and career guidance. |

 | Moreover, Childrens’ groups aim at inculcating thrift and saving habit among the younger generation. Promotion of leadership qualities at an early age can contribute capable leaders to the future generation. Nurturing the God given talents through different extra curricular activities play a significant role in the child development programme. Promotion of group activities like kitchen gardening, backyard poultry, rabbitory etc give them community spirit and economic development
