With these Objectives in mind, and realizing the need of the time, Shreyas gives due importance in adopting suitable and scientific development approaches to uplift the standard of rural women, which ultimately leads to the creation of a better society.During these years the department mainly focused on the "gender sensitivity" programme through systematically arranged seminars, workshops, couples training and interface.Consequently the development actors with a clear vision have owned up the issue and present the process on progress at the grass root levels. Providing counseling and legal support The women empowerment programmes conducted by Shreyas always had far reaching effects in the lives of women folk and thier families.As a result we could ensure creative participation of women in the local development activities including effective role in PRIs.Shreyas has developed a Gender Policy which is ensured in our interventions. Acceptence of women's role in the partner families, especially in the planning and decession making process are more and more evident. A qualitative change in the families is the outcome of our Gender development interventions.
